Occupational Therapy
Pediatric Occupational Therapists work to develop your child’s daily living skills in order to achieve their highest level of independence. At Children’s Therapy Corner, our focus is on developing the skills children need for their “jobs,” which, for a child, includes play, interaction with others, and self-care such as dressing, grooming and feeding. Occupational Therapists help children resolve challenges related to how they process and respond to sensory stimulus and develop strategies for the child to cope in their community.
In planning your child’s program, our Occupational Therapist evaluates their needs, abilities and interests using interviews, assessments and review of medical records. Our therapists select purposeful therapeutic activities to meet each child’s unique needs with family goals in mind. Treatment may cover one or more areas, ranging from muscle strengthening, self-care, coordination, sensory processing, visual perceptual to social-emotional adjustment, fabrication and use of adaptive equipment and splints. Our goal is for children to interact and enjoy their world.
