BCBA Therapists
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is an individualized and research-supported treatment for children with autism. ABA is a data driven methodology that improves lives by focusing on socially significant behaviors. By manipulating the environment, ABA increases functional skills while decreasing interfering behaviors. Families will regularly meet with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to review progress and make adjustments. Families and caregivers also receive training in how to support a child in learning and practicing skills throughout the day.
BCBAs are certified individuals who are trained in the implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis. BCBAs must have a Master’s Degree in a human services field, including specific graduate level coursework in Behavior Analysis. They must have supervised experience in ABA. Finally, they must pass a standardized exam. That means parents can feel assured that the therapist has both academic and applied skills.
