Last night Governor Whitmer announced closure of all K-12 school buildings for 3 weeks starting Monday March 16 through Sunday April 5th. At this time, Children’s Therapy Corner will remain open and ready to serve your children and their needs.
“This is a necessary step to protect our kids, our families, and our overall public health,” said Governor Whitmer. “I am working with partners across state government to ensure educators, parents, and students have the support they need during this time, and to ensure our children who rely on school for meals have access to food. I know this will be a tough time, but we’re doing this to keep the most people we can safe. I urge everyone to make smart choices during this time and to do everything they can to protect themselves and their families.”
“Closing our K-12 school buildings is the responsible choice that will minimize the risk of exposure for children, educators, and families and mitigate the spread of coronavirus,” said Michigan State Superintendent Michael Rice. “The Department of Education will continue to work closely with our partners in state government to help our students and educators in each school district get through this time. This is about protecting the most people in Michigan.”
Whitmer also stated in the news conference that all in-school Day Cares will remain open.
The Governor then repeated the messaging of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for the measures of protection which continue to be those Children’s Therapy Corner is implementing and following:
Wash hands with soap and if not available use hand sanitizer
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
Use proper respiratory etiquette
Avoid others who are sick and remain home if you are sick
Children’s Therapy Corner continues to remain diligent in this time and our commitment to you, your children and our staff. We recognize the initial response to secure and minimize all large gatherings and reduce the contact with others who are potential carriers of the virus.
Again, at this time Children’s Therapy Corner will remain open and ready to serve your children and their needs. If you and/or your child are sick in any way, out of an abundance of caution-please call and cancel your session(s) and remain at home. We take your family and our staffs health seriously. Please know that your schedule will remain solid with CTC until you are able to return.
Children’s Therapy Corner will continue to monitor this situation.
Please make the best decision as to what is best for you and your family.
And as always take care.
